THERAPIES DIRECTORATE Band 6 SPECIALIST PHYSIOTHERAPIST – Neurosciences Permanent and Fixed Term Contract Opportunity (37.5 hours/week across seven days) An exciting opportunity has arisen within the physiotherapy service at St George’s Hospital and Queen Mary’s Hospital to employ a Band 6 physiotherapist as part of the neurosciences team. This post will work within the Neurosciences rotation scheme which covers the following areas:Neurosurgery, Neuro-Outreach, Acute Stroke (HASU and ASU), Acute Neurology, Neuro-outpatients,Neuro-rehabilitation and the Community Neuro Therapy Team. Main duties of the job The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of the neurosciences team providing a high standard of physiotherapy assessment, treatment and advice to people with neurological conditionswithin St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. In addition, the successful candidate will need to be able to participate in the supervision and teaching of physiotherapists, assistant staff,and physiotherapy students and to participate in the on-call and weekend rota. It is essential that you have a minimum of 18 months post-registration experience, which must include at least 1 year’s NHS experience (which may have been as an undergraduate). Person Specification Qualifications and Training Essential Degree or equivalent in physiotherapy HPC registration Evidence of CPD, in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio, including attendance at recent post graduate courses relevant to the clinical field Desirable Working towards MSc Special interest group membership Experience Essential Minimum 18 months to 2 years post registration experience Minimum of 1 year’s NHS experience (can include undergraduate experience).
