Our NHS Fife Physiotherapy strategy 2022 – 2025 has 3 aims; inclusion, excellence and sustainability and accordingly we look to employ quick thinking, adaptable, clinically inspired Physiotherapy staff. We have an opportunity for someone to lead our already dynamic orthopaedic team. Working with the Band 7 clinical specialist you will be asked to ensure the team provide quality, evidence based care across; elective, hip fracture ward, trauma, paediatrics, outliers and day surgery. Currently the team of 17 staff work flexibly providing a service across 7 days and extended days as required. We have expanded into our new build elective orthopaedic centre where we support the Waiting Times Initiative. This post holder will be instrumental in progressing the flexible working models and introducing e- rostering. Whilst we ask for engagement with weekend working, we support this with a dynamic approach to work patterns. We consider flexible working, provide hybrid undergraduate placements and we support selective home working for non clinical pieces of work. We have 12 orthopaedic Consultants therefore you must have a broad range of knowledge in the management of common and complex orthopaedic presentations, surgeries and pathways and you will require excellent communication skills. Knowledge and expertise of complex discharge planning is also essential Our department is friendly and supports staff well being and offers; in-service training, regular appraisal and PDP meetings, excellent peer group and management support. Whilst the core orthopaedic service is based at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, the team cover day surgery at Queen Margaret in Dunfermline; both locations are commutable from Lothian, Forth Valley, Dundee and Perth and car share amongst colleagues is often available.
