We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join the Frailty Team at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. Our team delivers Comprehensive Geriatric Assessments (CGA) to patients presenting with frailty in key front-door areas, including the Medical/Surgical Admissions Units, Emergency Department, Rapid Triage Unit and GP Assessment. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to be part of an innovative service. As well as providing rapid multidimensional assessments and identifying appropriate care pathways to support patient flow. You will contribute to the ongoing development of the Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy role within the every evolving Frailty Team. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Practitioners, and Clinical Frailty Practitioners, and must be flexible to cover a seven-day working rota. The Frailty Team operates from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, 365 days a year, on a self-rostering basis. You should have significant inpatient experience, preferably at Band 6 level, and a strong interest in working with older adults, aligning with local and National Frailty Standards. Experience in staff supervision and management is beneficial as you will be expected engage in clinical audits, quality improvement, and supervise junior staff and students. The role offers regular supervision, TURAS appraisal, and opportunities for professional development. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
