Our NHS Fife Physiotherapy strategy 2022 – 2025 has 3 aims: inclusion; excellence and sustainability. We look to employ quick thinking, adaptable and clinically inspired Physiotherapy staff. Can you help us achieve our mission of transforming health and care in Fife to be the best? Come and join NHS Fife to work within a team of like-minded individuals at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. Our inpatient teams thrive on exposure to a diverse range of patients that invites assessment, treatment & discharge planning across a number of different teams including: Respiratory (HDU and ICU); Orthopaedics (trauma, day surgery and elective in the newly built elective orthopaedic centre); General medicine and Care of the Elderly Medicine; Acute Stroke and Front Door Integrated Assessment Team. Your rotations will be 8 months long across each of these teams. The post remit includes participation in MDT working, clinical audit, in-service training, staff and student supervision. There are many opportunities to attend practice educator and supervision training to support you in these aspects of the role. We support all staff in their development and opportunities exist in-house to undertake leadership development and quality improvement projects. NHS Fife organises regular Band 6 in-service training and peer support. As part of this post, there will be a requirement to be on the respiratory on-call rota which covers over-night on-calls and weekend working. Training and induction to this will be provided when in post. We are looking for initiative and drive for continually-improving, safe, effective care and you will need to have a broad range of knowledge and experience in the management of common and complex inpatient presentations and complex discharge planning. The Victoria Hospital is approx. 25miles from Edinburgh and 30miles from Dundee so easily commutable with good rail and road links. Car share options may also be available to support with commuting to and from work. For informal enquiries, please contact Amy Daly, Physiotherapy Manager on 01592 643355 ext 26957 or Catriona Bruce, Physiotherapy Manager on 01592 643355 ext 21108. A requirement of this post is to become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme Prior to appointment. NHS Scotland is reducing their full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board. NHS Fife is legally obliged to ensure all its employees are legally entitled to work in the United Kingdom. If you are not a United Kingdom (UK) or Irish National, you are required to confirm your right to work in your application. NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
